Delivery accepted. Any 2xx counts. Acknowledge as soon as you have persisted the event and process asynchronously — the read timeout is 5 seconds and a slow response is indistinguishable from a broken one.
Delivery failed and will be retried with exponential backoff from 30s, up to 6 attempts, after which it is dead-lettered and lost. Return a non-2xx only when you genuinely want the delivery again.
